Manage your motivational frequencies!

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

We refer to email notifications as motivational frequencies.

In the near future we will be able to deliver your information in whatever format you choose (handhelds, social media, sms).

Why? Because My Intents does not want to force you to visit us everyday. The last thing you need is another website to visit daily. Our philosophy is different. We want you to properly capture all the information you need in order be successful. Then, with strategic motivational frequencies, activate the law of attraction in your life.

There is a central location where all email notifications can be efficiently managed and we want to make sure that you know how to use it properly.

Keep your life changing stories close to your heart.

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Stories are a wonderful way to get past your head and right to your heart. If you can connect each of the sections on My Intents with a story, it will really boost your awareness.

Start with stories that have happened to you or people you know. You can also use stories from books you’ve read, television shows, movies or anywhere else. You can even write your own stories!

Make sure to capture what these stories taught you that you want to remember in the future.

The foundation of your life are your core beliefs!

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Whether you believe it or not, your core beliefs run your life and are ultimately responsible for your success or failure.

Have you ever asked yourself what are the underlying beliefs, morals and values that make up who I am?

Think about the last time something felt really “wrong” to you and then ask yourself what belief it was going against.

Now, think about the times you feel most alive, excited and “in the flow” of life. Which of your core beliefs were being expressed at those times?

Your beliefs drive everything you do, whether you’re aware of it or not. When you capture them with My Intents, and see them onscreen as you work towards your goals, it will help you stay in line with them.

You must respect (and in some cases) change your core beliefs in order to achieve the success you want. My Intents will help you do just that.

Use the transformational power of forgiveness!

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Forgiving others is one of the most empowering things you will ever do.

But, did you realize that lack of forgiveness can be one of the biggest barriers to achieving your goals?

Today, you will think about anyone you’re angry with, and add them to your forgiveness page. Check off “Not Forgiven.” Now, decide if forgiving this person is something you are willing to work towards right now. If so, check “Active.” If not, check “Inactive.”

As you work on releasing yourself of this resentment and negative energy, you are clearing the path towards your goal. It is well worth the effort and is very liberating.

As you change someone’s status from “Not Forgiven” to “Forgiven,” we suggest you leave the record here in your account as a reminder that forgiveness is possible.

Forgiveness will set you free, so enjoy the process.

Are you ready to create the life you’ve always wanted?

Great! Let’s get started with the basics…

Today’s email is much longer than normal for good reason; you’ll be learning how to successfully set and manage goals. I promise that this foundational info is life changing, so be sure to master set goals.

Let’s get started…

SECTION 1 – Making Your Vision a Reality

I’m sure you have goals, dreams and aspirations. Perhaps you want to lose weight, make more money, or even learn how to cook Italian food! But, Dominic, did you realize that every reality starts as a flicker of a thought? From there, the thought grows into a steady idea and can eventually become reality.

Before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s differentiate a vision from a goal and a goal from its action steps.

You start off with a vision. When you open up your mind to visualize a future for yourself, the ideas are usually broad and not necessarily focused on details.

A SAMPLE VISION: Our company is among the top five in our field.

A goal, on the other hand, solidifies your intention of working toward that vision and specifies some level of detail. Goals give you energy and focus. You will likely work through a series of multiple goals in order to reach any one vision.

A SAMPLE GOAL: Increase our revenue to $50 million by the end of this financial year.

Action steps are the tasks that you need to complete if you want to meet your goal.

A SAMPLE ACTION STEP: Hire an advertising agency to increase visibility.

A goal is what gets you from vision to action so that you can succeed.

SECTION 2 – What is a SMART goal?

The first step to achieving your goals is to document them. Capturing your goals helps you clarify and pledge your commitment to them.

At My Intents, we want all of your goals to be SMART ones. A SMART goal is:

SPECIFIC – What exactly do you want to accomplish?
MEASURABLE – Will it be obvious that you have accomplished it? Can you measure your successful completion?
ACHIEVABLE – Is this goal within your reach? It may be outside of your comfort zone, but is it still realistic?
RELEVANT – Is this goal aligned with your vision and your values? Does it fit in with the life that you want?
TIME-FRAMED – Have you set a completion date? Do you have time allocated in your schedule to be working towards this goal?

Let’s look at some sample goals and make them SMART:

“I will lose weight,” becomes, “I will lose 50 pounds in the next six months.”
“I will make more money,” becomes, “I will earn a quarter of a million dollars in one year through wise investments.”
“I will learn how to cook Italian food,” becomes, “I will learn how to cook three new Italian dishes every month.”

When you use My Intents to capture your SMART goals, you will include a start date and the date you would like to achieve the goal.

SECTION 3 – The Action Steps…

A goal can seem overwhelming on its own, but if you think of it as a series of small steps or actions, all of a sudden it feels manageable.

Your action steps might have dependencies – where one must be completed before you move onto the next. Or, they may be a group of things you can be working on all at the same time.

To create your list of action steps, answer these questions:

1. Are there any skills or resources that you’ll need in order to meet this goal? If so, what are they and how you can go about getting them?
2. Are there any people you need to talk to for information or guidance? If so, who are they and how will you get in touch with them?
3. What are the shorter pieces of work that you need to do in order to complete this larger project? For example, to meet my goal of losing 50 pounds in the next six months, I will schedule an appointment with a nutritionist, track food intake and purchase fresh vegetables.

Use My Intents to easily list and prioritize your action steps. For each one, include the date you will start working on it and the date you will complete it.

SECTION 4 – Barriers…

You may have set goals in the past, but never achieved them. Now is the time to look back on those past experiences and identify the barriers that prevented you from achieving those goals. Capture them, along with anything else you can think of, such as:

* What might take your attention away from working on this goal?
* What might affect your confidence?
* What might sap your motivation?

When you have this list of potential barriers always in front of you, you can be on the lookout for them and hopefully avoid them altogether.

With My Intents, you can easily list (then eliminate!) barriers that prevent you from reaching your goals.

SECTION 5: Finally, Milestones…

It may seem like a long stretch of time between your start date and your end date for meeting your goal. And, there may be a lot of action steps in between. That’s why it’s helpful to set milestones along the way. Here, you can celebrate and acknowledge what you have already achieved.

For example, if your goal is to learn how to cook three new Italian dishes, plan a celebration and reward for when you cook that first dish. It could be as simple as buying yourself a new fancy apron, or a really nice bottle of wine to serve with dinner. This ‘mini-celebration” can serve as a boost to keep you moving towards your ultimate goal.

Capture several milestones and be sure to celebrate them as they come up!

Now that you’ve written a SMART goal, complete with Action Steps, Barriers and Milestones. Be ready to put Law of Attraction to work in next week’s lesson.

Now go out and create and attract the life that you’ve always wanted!
